Terms of Service
Last updated: June 1, 2026
Why does an E2E company need ToS?
Even when we can't read your data, we still need ground rules: acceptable use, liability limits, and what happens if the service changes. These terms exist to protect both you and us — not to give us access to your data, because that's architecturally impossible.
1. Acceptance of terms
By using any Selteer product or visiting selteer.com, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use our services.
2. Use of our services
You agree to use Selteer services only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Use the service to store, transmit, or distribute illegal content
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or compromise the encryption
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
- Use the service to harm, harass, or defraud others
- Perform automated scraping or abuse the API in ways that degrade service for others
3. Your responsibility for your keys
Because Selteer uses zero-knowledge encryption, we cannot recover your data if you lose your master password or recovery key. This is by design. You are solely responsible for keeping a secure backup of your credentials. Selteer will not be liable for data loss resulting from forgotten or lost access credentials.
4. Service availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, push updates, or temporarily suspend access to fix critical issues. We will communicate planned downtime in advance where possible.
5. Account termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, encrypted data associated with your account will be deleted from our servers.
6. Limitation of liability
Selteer is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Selteer shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to data loss, service interruptions, or unauthorized access to your device.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will note the date of the last update at the top of this page.
